Step by step for buyers

Before you search. Get pre-approved and compare more than one rate quote. Your financing type affects how strong your offer looks, so settle it early.

While you search. Jessica shows you every home that matches, regardless of the listing brokerage. At the end of each showing she asks one question: can you see yourself living in this home? If the answer is yes, it goes on your list.

In escrow. The seller must provide the Seller's Real Property Disclosure form, which by law covers known material defects even if they have been repaired. Jessica gets it before the inspection so you can compare the two.

At closing. Confirm the final numbers on your closing statement, wire funds only after verifying instructions by phone, and expect only a front-door key in some cases, especially if the home was a rental or bank-owned. Changing the locks after you move in is always a good idea.
