Writing an offer that holds up

Jessica's guide calls offers the number one reason to hire an agent. Anyone can open a door and point out the countertops; the skill is in shaping an offer around a specific property and situation. She looks at comparable sales with an eye on where the market is heading, not only where it has been. She weighs the home's condition, whether there are multiple offers, how long the listing has been active, and how your financing type will look to the seller. A home that just fell out of escrow after a long stretch on the market calls for a very different offer than one that hit the market last weekend.

One warning from Jessica's guide that applies everywhere: never trust wiring instructions sent by email. Criminals hack email accounts and send convincing fake instructions. Always confirm wiring details in person or by calling a verified number before sending funds.
